Here in Greater Shepparton we are very social and very connected. One of our strengths is our ability to unite and work together to make great things happen.
Numerous opportunities are on offer to get yourself connected to local businesses and networks including:
- GV BRaIN events
- WOW Women events
- GVYP (Goulburn Valley Young Professionals)
- La Trobe University John Furphy lecture series
- La Trobe University Fairley lecture series
- Lady Boss Events
These events have enabled Greater Shepparton to hear from such powerful leaders as Sir Bob Geldof, the Hon Dr Barry Jones AC, entrepreneur and Shepparton lad Radek Sali, Julian Burnside AO QC, Lindsay Fox, Peter Alexander, Layne Beachley and Ita Buttrose just to name a few.
We also invested in the growth of our local leaders via such opportunities as the Goulburn Murray Community Leadership Program (formerly the Fairley Leadership Program), Community Leadership Program, LGBTQ Leadership Program, Emerge Cultural Leadership Workshop series and La Trobe Women in Leadership series.
Our peak industry bodies provide a consistent insight into what is occurring at a local, state and federal level, and provide Board and Committee opportunities for those who are interested including but not limited to Shepparton Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Committee for Greater Shepparton (C4GS), Tourism Greater Shepparton (TGS) and Shepparton Show Me (SSM).
The Greater Shepparton Women's Charter Advisory Committee (GSWCAC)supports and promotes women in leadership roles and all levels of decision-making, including business or workplace positions, community groups or boards of management.
Finally, Greater Shepparton is also home to many great service organisations, including Kiwanis, Apex and Lions, as well as local groups such as People Supporting People, and the Greater Shepparton Foundation.
